National Geographic put out a new magazine to take advantage of the recent green buzz called The Green Guide. I heard about the magazine awhile ago but completely missed my opportunity to get the initial installment. However, for the second issue, I happened to be in the right place at the right time and quickly snapped it out to check it out.

In the original Wii videos that we saw (where we really saw the controller and nothing else), one of the game types that was promised was a cooking type game. The game type seemed at the time perfect for the system, and very likely at that. Cooking Mama was somewhat new at the time on the DS and was pretty good, from what I’ve heard. I was eager for this type of game, and sure enough Cooking Mama was brought quickly to the system to so so reviews.
Every year Sun Prairie has an event dedicated to corn, rightly called the Corn Fest. Essentially you go, you eat corn, drink beer, and go on some carnival rides. It’s small but since I grew up in Sun Prairie, it is somehow nice to go back and do it every year if I can. Plus, the corn is somehow better than anything I can make on my own. Not sure what I’m doing wrong with corn but oh well.

I went to the Brookfield Zoo last weekend. We basically decided that we wanted to do something special with my daughter since we had her for a big trip this summer and we wanted her to have some memorable moments to go into the school year with. We were getting kind of tired of our local zoo (which is good but we’ve already gone 3 times this year) and thought that this might be a great change of pace.
